Christmas Card Idea

Cute Christmas Card idea. This was our Christmas card last year. I couldn't get a good picture of all the kids together so I decided to just take individual pics and put them together. Used some digital scrapbooking stuff and printed them at Costco. So cute!

Re-covered Vinyl High Chair!

Our old high chair cover got riped and started to stink! It was time for a new cover. My daughter has out-grown her bumbo and needed a high chair... I love how it turned out, don't you!
This is the only before picture I could find! This is when my (now 3 year old) was a baby...

Much better...

Want to make your own?? Well here you go... start by making a pattern out of your old high chair cover. I traced mine before throwing it out... If you still have your old one just use it as your pattern.

Trace onto foam (If your pad did not get moldy you could reuse it) ours needed to be replaced. Although I bought this foam a long time ago so it started to turn colors but it is clean! Now Cut, I suggest cutting inside the line about 1/4 inch so you can sew the fabric around it!

Buy some totally cute vinyl covered fabric. Found this at a local quilt shop. You can also buy the iron on vinyl to apply to your own fabric.

Trace and cut front and back and any other pieces you will need!

Trace lines onto foam and cut where you are going to stitch.

Sew your bias tape to the bottom edge of backing if you have it on your highchair. This piece hooks over the top of my high chair.

Layer foam on top of fabric.

Then put top fabric on...like a sandwich. Both right sides of fabric should be on the outsides.

Pin together and 1/4" using a zipper foot (this is not easy, takes a lot of patience!) Just try to keep the edges lined up the best you can, completely enclosing the foam.

This is what it will look like.

Stitch your top overlap to the top of the back of your seat.

Pin on binding...

Sew binding all the way around the seat...Again a very difficult task, just make sure you catch the top and bottom of the bias tape all the way around, corners will be hard but luckily mine aren't visible in the final product!

Now sew where necessary on your highchair, I had lines along the side that I used chalk to draw and lines along the inside...

I also made a button hole for the belt to fit through.

Finally I cut little slits on the edges where mine attaches to the chair...

Here is the finished back on the chair...

Love that the vinyl just wipes clean!!

This was quite the project but I am so glad I did it. It looks awesome!

Bench Seat Cushion - A Tutorial

I haven't finished Sam's ruffled bedding but I have a good reason why.....I was helping my friend make this...

Here's a little TUTORIAL!

This is the window seat before...

Here is the really long piece of foam she bought from JoAnn's... (we had to glue an extra piece on to fit the length of her 10 foot seat, we just used hot glue.

Then we added batting for extra fluff. Wrapped it around and used hot glue to secure the edges, just a thin layer.

After measuring your cushion cut all your pieces of fabric out. We had 2 large top and bottom pieces, 2 long side pieces and we cut 3 side pieces (1 extra for a Velcro opening). Remember to add seam allowance. Then I began by sewing the piping along the top large piece. It took a lot of trim!!!

Then we sewed the 2 long side pieces to one of the short end pieces and pinned them to the top. Then sew...your piping trim will be sandwiched between the top piece and side pieces, sew very close to the piping (even though you can't see it, it is easy to tell where it is under the fabric) leave about 3 inches un-sewn at the ends of your long pieces.

To make your velcro opening take the 2 other end pieces and fold one edge down on each piece.. attach the velcro...one to the right side of fabric and one to the wrong side...make the velcro slightly shorter than the length of the edges (for seam allowance)

It should look like this sewn on...

Put the velcro together and pin the edges to the long edges that you left un-sewn before. Sew them together and them pin to the top piece and continue sewing the rest of the edge to the top.

After sewing more trim to the bottom piece, pin it to the other side of your edges(right sides together). Sew all the way around the rectangle (your opening will be the velcro part, for turning it right side out) Turn right side out and stuff your cushion inside (this was a bit difficult do to the size of our seat, so we unstitched a small opening on one side of the cushion, just big enough for a hand to fit through in order to grab and pull the cushion to the end).

Close the velcro opening (hand stitch your other opening closed if you made one) and put your cushion in place!

Stand back and admire your new bench seat!

Sneak Peak!! Ruffled bedding...

This is what I am working on!!

It is an Anthropologie inspired comforter for Sam's bed...to go in her purple room! It has actually been way easier than I had anticipated. And don't worry I will be including a tutorial if you want to make your own. So stay tuned....I should finish it up over the weekend!

Father's Day Candy Bouquet

Father's Day gift for daddy!! A candy bouquet...would be great as a teacher's gift as well, maybe put a sign on it that says "your the sweetest!"
Gather your supplies.... variety of candy bars, sticks, whoppers, Styrofoam(or extra whoppers), tissue paper or other embellishments...

Cut off top of Whoppers box...

Put Styrofoam in the whopper container and a square piece of paper..fill back up with whoppers, you could also just buy extra whoppers so they fill to the top! Tape your sticks to the back of the candy bars.

Place Stick candy along edge of whopper container...

I added little Tie printouts and tissue paper to the inside!! Could also put a tie in the tissue paper as a gift!

Summer Dress

Saw THIS tutorial over at Make it and Love it and I just had to make one! When my sister came to visit we bought the material and got started. The elastic is a little time consuming but the end result is adorable. My daughter just loves it!

Twirling!!!

*My only recommendation would be to not use as much fabric. This dress is made to be 2.5 times your child's size, I would recommend doing 1.5 to 2 times bigger! Feeding in your elastic would be much easier! Here are the formulas I used for the pieces:

Main Pieces (cut2): (Child's waist measurement) x 2.5, then add 2, then divide by 2....this is your WIDTH.

(Child's chest to knee measurement) plus 2.5.....this is your LENGTH

Waist casing: WIDTH x 2, then add 3...this is your length, your width is 2(may want to make it 2.5 to make elastic threading easier!)

Birthday BBQ Invitation

You just need some scrapbook paper/cardstock. Printer, baby hole punch, ribbon, scissors, and some glue. I just typed up the invitation info (could be for a picnic, or reunion BBQ). Added some clip art. Printed the BBQ clip-art on the red and white paper then cut them out to fit the card. Cut out all your pieces and glue them together. Punch your holes, add your ribbon, fold and glue the sides of your pocket together and let dry. Put invite in the pocket!

Easter Bunny Carrot Toss Game

Just in time for Easter!! All you need is a big piece of white Cardboard or paint it white, knife (I used an exacto), some paint if you want to paint it and a fat permanent marker....

Draw bunny head with pencil on cardboard. Cut out ears and mouth. Paint around bunny and nose and eyes. outline with marker. I added a bow with hot glue!

Oh I made these fabric carrots found HERE....just made them a little bigger and put some bead stuffing in the tip then cotton so they weigh a little more, good for tossing. You could also just use bean bags for tossing!

Jersey Knit Dress - Little Girl

Probably the Quickest little girls dress I have ever made! Made up the pattern, cut out the fabric, sewed it together, did a rolled hem on the edges(see below) and put a little elastic on the arm. Turned out so cute!

Children's Framed Profile Home Decor

Made this for my friend for her birthday and it turned out so cute!! All you need is:

Cardstock - I used black and white

Profile pics of your kids (make sure they are the same proportions, I just imported my pics into a word document, cropped them down to just the head, changed them to black and white so you don't waist color on your printer and print)

A 12x12 Scrapbook frame (got mine at michaels)

Embellishments - Ribbon, Flowers, Buttons, Gems

Tape/Glue

To Make:

Cut out your profiles from the prints, Draw outline on the back of your cardstock, cut out, the more detail the better. I used a thicker tape to mount on the white cardstock backing so it sits higher on the page.

Print child's name, I used a font called "RAGE", then cut out, I used a corner cutter as well and backed with black cardstock. Glued on white cardstock backing.

Add Ribbon (glue the ends to the back side) and hot glue flowers buttons, gems on as you like them. I also added a little ribbon bow to the profiles like a bow in their hair.

Frame! and you're done.

Purple Baby Shoes

Finally made some adorable Baby Shoes for my little one. I made these to match the Easter dress I am making for her and her sister. They are going to be so cute!!

You can find this grippy fabric at the fabric store.. JoAnn's has it by the big bolts of felt.
I have made tons of these shoes and this is by far the best pattern!! Go HERE to get it.

Girl's Room Ribbon Stencil

This is what I have been up to lately!!

It is going to take a while to finish so I have been committing to doing a little bit each day, while my baby is napping. Stenciling is a lot more work than I had expected but I love the final look! It is going to be so cute when it is all done!

Necklace T-Shirt

Saw this awesome idea HERE... and just had to make one for my little Samantha...

Easy to do and very cute. The only advice I would give is to put more paint than you think on each dot. The more paint the puffier the dot after you steam it. The fabric paint is called "Velveteen" written up on the top edge of the bottle of fabric paint found at the craft store. It was intermixed with all the other fabric paints so I had to search for it but it worked and I can't wait to make another one! Oh and make sure you put a piece of cardboard in between your fabric or you'll ruin the back (luckily I remembered).

I'm invisioning a cute black ruffly skirt to match!!

Candy Jar Decoration

A cute and fun way to display your little treats!

Here's what you need. A small terra cotta pot, and base for lid. Round Glass bowl (found mine at the $1 store.) Paint color of choice, paint brush (or use spray paint), gloss top coat, wood ball with flat side, vinyl, candy...

Start by painting your pot,lid and ball...

Should look like this....

Once dry, spray with a clear gloss finishing spray...

Then embellish as desired....you could paint a design on it before you spray with gloss or put vinyl cutouts on it like I did...

Vinyl on the Glass Bowl...

You can use any kind of ribbon you like but I like to use wired ribbon, then I pull the wire out of one of the ends to gather it...

I did that to both sides and then swirled it in a circle to make a flower...

With a strong hot glue I attached the glass bowl to the pot and hot glued the ribbon in place and glued the ball on the lid as well...

Fill with your favorite candy and enjoy!

Kids Pajama Redo...A Tutorial

Turning Footy Jammies into Open End Jammies...Here is what the final product will look like...
Has your child out-grown his or her Footie Pajamas? Or worn out the feet like so....

Then this is the perfect tutorial for you! So easy to do! Takes about 10-15 min. and extends the life of your toddler's pajamas! Here's how its done...

First cut off the feet like so...

Grab some knit fabric....sold at JoAnn's and other fabric stores or use an old t-shirt (stretchy kind). Cut about the width of the opening of your pajamas and the length double what you want, x2...

Fold in half (length ends touching)..

Stitch...

Fold in half allowing the seam to be on the inside... (line up edges)

This is what your bottom edge will look like...

Now place it over the opening of the pajamas, the raw edges together

Stitch the along the bottom, making sure to catch all 3 layers of fabric... I sew on the inside, stretching the knit fabric to fit(it should be a little bit smaller than your opening)

Surge or zigzag stitch to make even more secure...

Turn right side out....

Repeat all your steps with the other leg....

And then stand back and admire your work!

I was just going to throw these Pajamas out but I am so glad I didn't. They are just like new and my little guy loves them!

Fabric Frames Wall Art

Got these adorable little frames from my best friend Tiffany (she found them at the $1 store), yes the ribbon that it hangs from comes on it! Just added some cute fabric to the inside and made a couple fabric flowers to embellish...love how they turned out in my little girls room! Go HERE to see how these flowers are made.

Go great with the "SAM" letters my friend Tiffany made for her! (they have sparkly white glitter all over them!)

Can't wait to keep working on her room. It is going to have a white stenciled design around the middle where the 2 colors meet, a bow holder, a cork board for art(covered with the same fabric as in these frames), embellish the curtains, and revamp an antique mirror dresser from grandma. It will be so cute when it is done!

Craft Room Organization

I still have a few things to finish (a peg board on the wall, a shelf, move computer out and sewing machines on desk) but this is what I have done so far in my craft room!

Awesome shelf for all my fabric... (flower pot holding all my fake flowers) love this fabric organization!! Find the how to HERE.

Pretty flowers (made for Relief Society long ago) used as decoration! New baskets for the desk and albums displayed nicely.

Valentine Countdown

I can't take credit for this one, my best friend Tiffany thought of it, she is amazing. And my kids just love getting a little candy everyday until Valentine's day....
She found these heart shaped party favors (came in a 30 pack so we split them) @ Michael's craft store...

We cut the vinyl out on the Silhouette and put them on each heart and filled with candy...

And luckily they are magnetic so all we did was put some round little magnets on the fridge and put the hearts up. (you can glue the magnets on the hearts but it isn't necessary.

Perfect Valentine advent calendar! You can also put them on a little cookie sheet and set up in the kitchen if your fridge is not magnetic! Tiffany did all her numbers in white and filled her hearts with conversation hearts, looks adorable too. Enjoy!

Little Girl Apron and Potholder

Went to visit my sister last month and she created a pattern for this adorable child's apron! We found the cutest fabric at Craft Warehouse to make it and man did it turn out cute.....

So I decided to make a little hot pad to match. I entered it in the Prudent Baby pot holder contest in hopes of winning a brand new sewing machine!! They featured my pot holder on their site! Love it!!

And as soon as the apron was complete my little girl just had to put it on and bake something! So we made some sugar cookies to celebrate Valentine's Day coming up!

It's just like memory. Match the baby words and get the candy prize. For example "Non-lactating Breasts" you win Milk Duds candy, "contractions" you get Whoppers etc. You can find more samples online:) and just go with the ones you find candy for! Here is a pic of the candy...

Birthday Cupcakes

My friend Tiffany was making some cupcakes for a girl's Birthday party and I offered to help make some marshmallow fondant decor. We went with pastel colors and a flower design. She iced the cupcakes with a puffy swirl and we topped it off with sprinkles and the flower cut outs. So, so cute!

Easter Dress out of old Prom Dress - part 1

Little Girl Capris!

Valentine's Day Crafts

We are having our V.T. conference on Valentine's Day so I am making decorations for our R.S. room....Here is some heart garland (I saw this idea on a blog a while ago, don't remember where) and couldn't resist making some...

I just cut lots of different sized hearts out of felt and stitched down the middle!

Some cute hanging hearts...2 strips of felt 2 stitches and a string to hang...

And here is a sneak peak at the flower hair clips I have been working on. I will be selling these to help raise money for a family in our ward. Stay tuned!!

Christmas Crafts

Christmas Crafts...Thought I would share some photos of the Christmas Crafts that kept me busy this year...
Family Letters for my Sister-in-law

Nephew's (bean bag) Name bags. So I was going to fill them with beans but they felt odd and I didn't want them to throw them at each other and get hurt so I filled them with fiberfill and they are like little pillows. Made a matching bag so they can hang them on the door knob and throw them in.

This was a surprise gift I made for my mother in law. I had all the supplies except the mini clothespins. Used vinyl on the sign it says "Grandkids make life grand" Now I wish I had something like this for hanging photos in my house, maybe something with the words Family and clips for photos...

I am going to a baby shower tonight I wanted to try something new so I iron-on transferred words onto a pair of baby shoes. I need to perfect this technique in the future but overall they turned out nice.

Fall Wreath

Wreath (got it at a yard sale last summer) walmart sells them for less than $2, Fall Ribbon (clearance at walmart), Autumn sign (got it 2 years ago on clearance after fall. Put it all together and hang from a door wreath hook...lovely!

Dress design for Shabby Apple dresses

I decided to sketch a "dress design for Shabby Apple dresses." I am not a professional designer but I love the idea of creating new dresses (usually for toddlers). I thought this would be fun. And who knows maybe I will be selected as a finalist...

Here's the dress design...
Front....Complete with V-neck and a slight poof in the sleeves. I love a low waist-line that elongates the body. The pleating on the skirt adds dimension as you walk and the white trim on waist, sleeve, and bottom edge adds a little contrast to the dress.

The back (on right) would have an invisible zipper for a nice fit.

I imagine this dress in a variety of vibrant spring colors....purple, baby blue, yellow, coral or pink all with white trimmings. The fabric would preferably be a cotton with maybe 5% spandex in it for a little stretch. I was inspired by a flattering but modest top I saw on T.V. which had a great v-neck. I've always loved the poof sleeve with a thick cuff and I love pleats in a skirt. The drop-waist was inspired by my wedding dress (I felt so beautiful that day) and the drop-waist is very flattering.

Decorated Candy Jar

I decorated this Jar($3) I found at Wal-Mart with some ribbon, a flower, and button. I also was able to take it to an Enrichment night where we did glass etching! (Otherwise buying your own glass etching can be costly). It turned out so cute and I filled it candy and gave it as a gift. Love It!!

Scripture or Miniture Tote Bag

This is so simple to make!! All you need is a place mat (found this one at the $1 store) Sew the sides together then sew the corners in and trim. Add ribbon for handles and embellish. I used a fake flower with a purple button and rhinestone. Turned out so cute!

So we had a Gardening Class last night for a simple enrichment activity. It was wonderful:) We got little marigold flowers donated from a local nursery and I made these cute dirt cups for the refreshment!! How fun:)

Man's Shirt to Toddler Shirt!

I took one of my husband's old polo shirts and turned it into a shirt for my 18 month old son. I took pictures along the way so I will be making a tutorial (once I am done with my stake enrichment:). But I wanted to share my before and after photos!! Its a great way to recycle an old shirt!!

Tissue Flower Centerpieces!

I am busy at work with our upcoming stake enrichment/ women's conference. We are doing a day of service projects and classes. The only thing we need centerpieces for are the food tables. Here are the 2 I have completed so far, I got this idea HERE...so cute

Girls Summer Shorts - Outfit

Crafting with my sister!! My goal was to make my little Sammy her summer wardrobe. Well I didn't get them all done but most are cut out. Cute little modest shorts and some matching tops. Once I finish the others I will get them posted. We made our own pattern for the shorts using a pair of shorts I already had for her that I liked. Modified them a little, added ruffles to some and this is what we got! Adorable. I just bought the shirts and embellish them to match, the cupcake was an iron-on I found at JoAnn's.

Easter Egg Wreath

Boy Shoes and a Tie Appliqued Onesie

Another Pair of Baby Boy Shoes!

Here is what you will need to do an applique. Fusible Web (JoAnn's has it in the pack-pictured below). Some cute fabric and a onesie. In the middle you will see the tie cut out of the fusible web. You attach it to the fabric and the onesie and then Iron (it fuses on both sides, its like double sided interfacing). Then stitch around the edge. Turned out so cute!! And it is so fast and easy.

Seasonal Picture Frames

Sweetheart Sister Enrichment

We had a super Sweet Enrichment last night....
It included 5 of our sweetest sisters being spotlighted (tables displaying pictures, items they'd made, etc), their V.T. spotlighted them telling stories and interesting things about them. They came to the front and we crowned them, gave them a corsage, a box of chocolates and a homemade craft bag (I made those so I will post a pic soon). All the sisters were so cute!!! We also had a lovely homemade cheesecake dessert (last picture), a slide show of hands and service, and a musical presentation...Tabitha sang "His Hands." The evening was beautiful with red and white tablecloths and roses in the centerpiece vases(that all the sisters took home at the end) and chocolate kisses along the tables. We also had handouts at each place setting the had lyrics to the song on the video ("my sisters hands" by Sally Deford) and a scroll with a poem about the rose on it. Oh and heart shaped sugar cookies on doilies! It was such a great night (only a couple technical difficulties but all and all it was wonderful!)

The latest baby shoes....

I fused the flower on and then hand stitched around the edge, then added the button. I put embellishments on at the very beginning before anything is sewn together. Just remember if you are using buttons make sure you don't leave baby alone with shoes on, if baby is able to grab well, because they may be able to pull the button off over time.

The cub scouts had a patriotic theme dinner. Each person was suppose to bring a centerpiece. I looked at what I had around the house and this is what I came up with.....

*3 canning jars, some paper, ribbon, straws and stars and this is how it turned out, so cute!
* I just put red, white and blue paper through the paper shredder to fill the jars, tied ribbon at the top, cut out the letters and taped(or glue) them to the straws and added a couple star accents. This would be a great 4th of July decoration as well! Super fast and easy to make!

I saw this small basket tutorial online and thought it was great. I wanted a basket much bigger so I made my own pattern to create this large bag. My sister-in-law is going to use it as a church bag because she always has so much stuff to take but didn't have a bag big enough to carry it all. Maybe I will try to make a tutorial for this basket:) Anyone interested?

Homemade Baby Spider Costume!

This is a super easy homemade spider costume for baby!! This is what you will need....Black hooded sweater, black pants, soft black material that matches (enough for 4 legs and a back), pillow stuffing, flat back googly eyes. You'll need a sewing machine and a needle and thread. I cut the legs out of fabric, about the size of the arms on the sweater, sew them together and sew a circle at one end (that part is completed in the picture below). Then you will cut a big circle for the back. First stuff the legs with stuffing, and sew them onto the back of the sweater 2 on each side. Then start sewing the back circle on (sew so the edge is under) then stuff it and hand sew the opening, closed. I used hot glue to glue the eyes on the back of the hood.

This costume is perfect for the crawling baby! Our little guy was the center of attention at our trunk or treat/ward carnival!!

8 Cow Enrichment - Cake

Here is the cow cake my sister and I made for our 8-Cow Enrichment. It went so well. We had 8 stations that each had 5 minute lessons. One of the stations was Grazing where we had cow pies(no bake cookies) and this cute cow cake! (Made with marshmellow fondant visit Fondant 101 website)

Here is a handout that we put together for the sisters to take home.

They are little fridge magnets with a mirror on the front (printed on cardstock and hot glued the mirror and magnet on, magnet came from JoAnn's .99 cents for a 10 pack of 1" mirrors).

YW Decorative Jars (vases)

Last week I helped decorate some jars for the Young Women in Excellence night. I printed these cute value cover pages created by melanie at sugardoodle.net, shrunk them, printed them on color paper, and taped them to mason jars (2 per jar). Add some ribbon at the top and you have a decorative jar/vase to display. These ones were used as centerpieces on the tables with flowers in them! So cute!

Bag Embellishment!

For our ward enrichment service project we got 25 fred meyer reusable grocery bags donated. So I decided to embellish them with cute puppy faces. I just cut 3 ovals out of felt for each face and a little white for the patch. I used a hot glue gun to attach them to the bag (less is better, it doesn't show through as bad with a thin layer of glue). We then filled the bags with blankets, hygiene kits, stuffed animals, crayon roll ups (see below), coloring books, and story books. It was a great enrichment! We donated the bags to our local foster care center.

Enrichment Poster!

I am an enrichment leader at church and I love to make posters for up and coming events. Here is one I finished the other day, it turned out very cute. I just cut some cordinating papers, glued them down, added some letters and printed information with color backing, a couple buttons, that is ribbon down the middle, oh and I used a corner cutter for the corners of the paper. The size was half of a poster board.

I used a distressing ink on the edges too.

My mom and I made these when she came to visit. We used glass rocks (1") that are flat on one side, cut pictures of each of her grandchildren, and glued them on. Then we added a magnet to the back. I made them for my mother-in-law as well and she loved them!! They make a great gift for loved ones.

Nursing Cover

These are super handy for a nursing mother and they are fairly simple to make. This one is made from about 1/2 yard of material (you can use more if you prefer) edges are folded twice over, ironed and stitched. At the top I make a little casing for the boning to fit in and I slide it in before sewing it off on the sides. (Boning can be purchased at JoAnn's). I made matching ties for the neck piece(sew strips of fabric right sides together, then turn right side out, stitch to cover. I just tie mine off but you can also use D rings to fastin. Try it!!

Baby Shower Food and Game

The shower I threw (with help) last week turned out so fun. Here are pictures of the food. Cupcakes (decorated with brown and blue).

Punch made with a ice ring (had blueberries and puch frozen in a bunt cake mold).

Little watermelon baby carriages. Filled with watermelon, cantelope, and pinapple. There are lots of instructions online on how to make these. Very easy and I found that cutting the bottom flat and poking holes in the bottom helped keep it stable and the juice can drain out and not gather at the bottom.

Finally we played a baby consentration game. Unfortunately I forgot to take a before picture. But here is a picture of the game board after, with the baby terms glued onto poster board. They were covered with paper squares that got pulled off as matches were made. When people made a match for example "choosing baby's name" they would recieve the cordinating candy bar "whatchamacallit."
It was a big hit!

Jam Jar Decorating!

My crafts are centered around the baby shower I am throwing this week. For one of the prizes I am giving away a homemade jar of Strawberry Jam. So I decided to decorate it with the theme of the shower (brown and blue). I used scrapbook paper on the top and around the base and printed out a cute clipart picture of a mommy and baby (edited to my colors) and added wording and the date of the shower. I put some ribbon around the top ring and added a descriptive tag on top with a ribbon bow.

Baby Shower Invitations

If you are throwing a shower of any kind you can easily make some handmade invitations on your computer and then cut and embellish. For these I picked a clip art picture from word and edited the colors of the stroller to the theme of the shower I am throwing. (Done by right clicking on the picture and selecting picture options.) I filled in the information and made 2 columns so that I could print 4 per page. All you do is print on cardstock (here I used plain white) and then cut. I used a corner cutter to round the edges and then 2 hole punches to make the holes for the ribbon. (the ribbon is put through the holes in the front, crossed in the back and put back through the opposite holes, no tying involved!) I used a destress ink and make up sponge to embellish the edge. Enjoy!

Lego Cake

This was the cake my sister made for her 4 year old's birthday. Turned out so cute. Takes some time though so prepare the night before...make the cakes and freeze them, they are easier to frost that way.

Bean Bag Toss!

These little bean bags are simple to make just cut out some squares and sew right-sides together, leave about an inch or more open slot to turn right-side out and fill with beans, rice, or craft fill beads. Then hand sew opening closed.

For the board I just traced and cut circles out on one side of a large cardboard box. Paint if desired.

I was in charge of sharing time last Sunday for the Primary so I put this together for the activity. The kids loved it!

I have made baby shoes before and the other day I attended a double baby shower and I put together these baseball and sailboat booties for the mothers-to-be. They turned out so cute!! The othter pictures are of baby shoes I have made previously...

These are very inexpensive to make, they just take some time and patience(because they are so small). You can find many free instructions online by googling "baby shoe instructions" here are a few of my favorite places to get patterns or instructions....(You can change the style or modify the pattern to make it to your liking, I add embellishments and appliques that I think are cute! Let your mind go wild and create some cute shoes for your little one!!)

Well this week has been busy. I am always working on a number of crafts and I have a lot more ideas rolling around in my head! Applique and Shorts

I made this very adorable outfit last week for my little neice Katie for her birthday. Before I sent it I took some pictures of Sam wearing it (it's so cute I think I am going to have to make Sam one!) Not super hard to make either. I bought the shirt and used fusible web (like double sided interface) to put the applique on. I also stitched around the edges. I had a pattern for pants that I just cropped into shorts(a nice length) and vwala....

I would like to sell something like this on etsy, I think it might do well, and it was very fun to make!

Home Blocks

These are really cute and fun/easy to make!
I used ready to finish wood blocks from Michaels craft store.
Some cute matching scrapbook paper and some embellishments.
(buttons, twine, ribbon, etc.)
I sanded and painted the blocks, then I glued the paper on with "yes" glue, sanded the edges, then used a makeup sponge and stamp ink on the edges to get the rust look. Then I put on letters and embellishments (hot glue gun works fine for embellishments).

They would look great on a mantal or shelf, I gave these to a dear friend as a birthday gift!

Note: You could also do other words or do another letter on the other side so you could change the word (put a "p" on the other side of the "m" and flip it to change the word to "hope" etc.) The blocks are about 2.50 each and depending on the cost of paper and embellishments you could make this craft for as little as $10.00. Save by using old paper scraps or using coupons at michaels to get blocks for cheaper!
